The demo uses a desktop build that scales to any screen. On a phone it shows the full machine in landscape proportions; turn the phone sideways for bigger symbols. Sound starts muted in most browsers — use the speaker icons at the bottom of the game.

What you can learn in ten minutes of demo

The demo is a manual, not a forecast. In a short session you can learn what each button does, how often small line wins appear, how the book behaves as a wild, and how the expanding symbol looks in free games — if three books land.

• Bet size. TOTAL BET changes the stake for all lines; LINES sets how many of the ten lines play. Keep all ten: the expanding symbol pays only on played lines.
• Line wins. Wins count from the leftmost reel. Two explorers, masks, statues or scarabs already pay; cards need three.
• The book. It substitutes for any symbol on a line and pays anywhere as a scatter — watch how one book turns two masks into three.
• The gamble screen. After a win you can risk it on a card colour. Try it in the demo so you know where the “collect” button is when real money is involved.
• Autoplay. The demo has an AUTO switch. Some countries ban autoplay in real-money play — Germany among them — so do not get used to it.

Demo vs real money: what changes and what doesn’t

The symbols, lines, paytable and free-games rules are identical. What can differ at a casino is the RTP setting chosen by the operator, the bet range, and the local rules of your country. The randomness is the same: no demo session predicts a real one.

Which Book of Ra versions have a free demo?

From the official source, only Book of Ra deluxe (and a separate Book of Ra deluxe Bingo game). We checked Greentube’s public demo launcher on 23 October 2026: Classic, deluxe 6, Magic and the Win Ways editions are not offered there.

Many sites still show a “Book of Ra Classic demo”. Those copies are served from third-party servers, not by Novomatic or Greentube, and we cannot verify which build or settings they run. For the other versions we show screenshots and rules on the versions page rather than an unverified game.

If you want to compare versions by feel, the deluxe demo is still the best reference: Classic plays almost the same with nine lines, deluxe 6 adds a sixth reel for an extra stake, and Magic adds more expanding symbols in free games.

Is there a Book of Ra demo app?

There is a free-to-play app called “Book of Ra™ Deluxe Slot” by Funstage on Google Play. It is a social casino: you play with coins that cannot be cashed out. It is not the same thing as the browser demo and it sells extra coins inside the app.

Be careful with “Book of Ra demo APK” files from download sites. They are not published by Novomatic, and some carry adware or ask for payment details. Our app page lists what is real and what to avoid.

Problems and what to do

If the demo stays black, shows an error or freezes, the cause is almost always the browser or the network, not the game. These fixes solve most cases.
